30 kg of ganja seized from bus at Ponkunnam, four arrested

The police on Sunday seized 30 kg of ganja packed in four suitcases and arrested four persons at Ponkunnam here. The accused were identified as Nandu Renosh, Sharath Kumar, Shahrukh Khan and Adarsh P Reji, all natives of Erumely. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted an interstate bus from Bengaluru around 8 a.m. and recovered the contraband concealed in the accused’s baggage. The four had allegedly procured the ganja from Odisha and transported it via Bengaluru to Erumely for sale, the police said. They were produced before a magistrate.
