There will be severe disruption to traffic and public transport with road closures across the capital due to the 45th running of the Dublin Marathon.
The first wave to take off will be the wheelchair participants at 8.40am from Leeson Street.
Several waves of other competitors will start their runs at intervals up to 9.45am.
Multiple road closures came into effect around the start and finish lines in the city centre at 6am yesterday morning and will remain in place until 8pm tonight.
Dozens of additional road closures along the marathon's route in the city centre around Merrion Square and St Stephen's Green will begin at 3.30am, with staggered end times throughout the day.
