Sir, – The ornate and detailed 4.5m high, triple plot headstone in Sligo Cemetery is a surprise to everyone? One day it isn’t there, and the next it is suddenly erected, finished and looking polished (“‘A surprise to everybody’: Family denies organising 4.5m-high memorial in Sligo Cemetery,” Ireland, November 3rd).
We should find these builders and ask them to finish the children’s hospital for us. Completing that would also be a surprise to everyone. – Yours, etc,
JAMES O’SULLIVAN,
Milltown Road,
Dublin 6.
