Ukraine's power grid has been badly affected during the ongoing war

Hundreds of thousands of households in Ukraine were left without power after Russia hit power infrastructure in four Ukrainian regions overnight, President Volodymyr Zelensky ‌said on Telegram.

"The intensity of ‌the strikes is very high, ‌and the Russians are seeking to maximally exploit the deficit of ballistic missile interceptors," Mr Zelensky said.

In Russia, investigators have opened a criminal case on terrorism charges over a Ukrainian attack on an industrial facility and ‌civilian infrastructure in the Nizhny Novgorod region, state news agency TASS cited the Investigative Committee as ‌saying.

Earlier, the region's governor ‌said the unnamed facility had sustained significant ‌damage after a large-scale drone attack.

The region is home to the NORSI oil refinery, one of Russia's largest.
