Sir, – I will never buy anything again from a UK supplier unless they will cover the cost of returning the item in the event of it being unsuitable.
In early October, I was browsing an online golf apparel shop, which is based in Scotland. They had a sale on. I decided to purchase two tops for €56. A bargain, or so I thought. I paid an extra €10 for postage.
They were delivered promptly. I tried them on and both items were unsuitable, so I decided to return them. To return items from Ireland, the customer has to pay the cost of return. I packed them up and brought them to the post office as instructed. The cost to return the two items (less than 1kg in weight) with tracking was an eye watering €20. So, the total cost to me, just to try on two tops costing €56 was €30.
Never again – Yours, etc,
JOAN HEELAN,
Dalkey,
Co Dublin.
