An investigation is under way after the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered at a house in Co Dublin, this morning.
The bodies were discovered at a house in Cois Cairn on Old Connaught Avenue, in north Bray, at around 8am.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the State Pathologist has been notified.
The man was aged in his 30s, while the woman was in her 40s.
It appears the man may have died violently.
The man's body was found outside the house while the woman's body was discovered inside.
There does not appear to have been anyone else in the house.
Gardaí said the outcome of post-mortem examinations will assist in determining the course of the investigation.
They are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them at Shankill Garda Station.
'Sense of disbelief'
Sinn Féin TD for Wicklow John Brady said there was a "real sense of disbelief" in the area following the discovery of the bodies.
"(It is) absolutely devastating for the community here within the area," he said on RTÉ's News at One.
"I think a real sense of disbelief that a tragedy such as this is unfolding. Speaking to a lot of the locals here, (there is) just a real sense of shock and disbelief.
"My thoughts are with the family, the wider community here and indeed the extended family of both victims."
Mr Brady said that the people involved were well-known within the community.
"I'm conscious there is extended family here within the estate as well, so real shock within the community. These people would have been well known in the community," he said.
"It is very, very much a tight-knit community here. Everyone knows everyone."
