Sir, – Dublin City Council is apparently investigating the dumping of horse manure (“Horse manure dumped around Dublin suburbs,” October 28th). I understand the council can ask householders and businesses to show they have lawful arrangements to dispose of their waste.
A first step would be to ask the owners of urban horses who collects their waste. If the answer is “nobody”, then the next step is to see whether DNA from the horses matches that of the contents of the black bags in the street.
While these investigations continue, it would be great if the council could collect the manure dumped on my street, and reported more than a week ago. – Yours, etc,
BARRY DOHERTY,
Dublin 7.
