Boys and young men must be taught to understand and respect women’s bodily autonomy

Sir, – While I agree that girls should be supported from a young age to assert their right to bodily autonomy, we must be careful not to place the responsibility for preventing sexual assault on women and girls. That responsibility lies with those who perpetrate it.

Surely, our priority should be to teach boys and young men from an early age to understand and respect women’s bodily autonomy and their absolute right to decide who touches them? – Yours, etc,
