Sir, – Various letter writers to The Irish Times complain rightly about late and full buses. Every morning on the road I live on there are 100 to 150 cars backed up from the traffic lights. The majority of these cars have one person in them.
Two Dublin buses with 90 people in each can take these cars off the road, improving the speed & efficiency of the buses. But we know this will never happen in Dublin because the car is king.
In the meantime if we want a better bus service we have to stop blaming Dublin Bus and aim our efforts at the powerful car lobby. – Yours, etc,
