We feature two wines from O’Briens today, both on promotion for the next week.
The Côtes de Gascogne, down in the southwest corner of France, is a great source of light, fresh, fruity white wines, usually at very keen prices. The Combes & Trucs below is one such example.
Argentina is well-known for producing high-quality wines made from the malbec grape. The Mendoza region is responsible for 80 per cent of production. Bodegas Norton, owned by the Swarovski family, is one of the leading producers.
Sprightly and vibrant with lifted floral aromas and zesty green fruit. Enjoy as an aperitif or with lighter fish dishes.

Bodegas Norton Malbec Barrel Select 2025, Mendoza, Argentina
14%, €12.99 (down from €16.99)Medium- to full-bodied with smooth dark fruits laced with vanilla spice and a good, rounded finish. The local favourite is steak, but robust bean dishes, venison or grilled lamb chops would all do nicely.
