The Trump administration is attempting to prosecute James Comey for what it calls a decade-old leak of classified information. Comey's lawyers immediately dismissed the effort as invalid and outside the time limit.

Maurene Comey served as a federal prosecutor in Manhattan for around a decade. A judicial ruling finding her dismissal unlawful adds to concerns of politically motivated firings at the DOJ.
