KHERSON, Ukraine (AP) — A planned six-day ceasefire brokered by U.S. first lady Melania Trump and tied to a humanitarian aid mission in a Russian-occupied town has brought rare quiet to the Ukrainian-held city of Kherson across the water.

The local truce, brokered with the involvement of Pope Leo, is intended to allow aid into Oleshky and enable those who want to leave to do so.

The Government transition away from temporary protection has raised concern for Ukrainian refugees who have disabilities in particular.

Russia's strikes on Ukraine continue, but a localized ceasefire has started in the Russian-occupied Ukrainian town of Oleshky, where residents face dire conditions. CBS News' Aidan Stretch has the latest from Ukraine.
