Two high-speed trains have collided in Toledo, just south of Madrid, leaving multiple passengers feared dead.

The collision occurred on the Madrid-Seville line south of the city of Toledo, according to network manager Adif.

Footage showed a derailed train with at least one carriage remaining on an elevated section of track while twisted metal, broken panels and wreckage could be seen strewn across an embankment beneath the line.
